History

The United Divers of Central Mass. Dive Club

United Divers of Central Massachusetts was founded by former members of the Fitchburg Skin Divers club in 1983. The founding members were Paul Mathieu, Phil St. Jean, Cliff Allen, Scott Eweng, Ron Galipeault and Ted Osgood.

Under their leadership, members of United Divers performed annual ice diving events to raise money for organizations such as the Cotting School for Handicap Children and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Our members have spent countless hours and raised many thousands of dollars over the years in supporting such charities.

After 13 years of activity the club disbanded in 1996. Ron Galipeault, one of the original-founding members, re-organized the club and the first meeting of the revived club was held on May 17, 2001.
